About YHL Foods

Founded in 2018, YHL Foods Sdn Bhd (“YHL”) leads sustainable aquaculture in Southeast Asia, operating Malaysia’s first end-to-end, vertically integrated gene-to-supply chain. Our facilities include the 12-acre Shrimp Genetic Nucleus Centre in Mersing, a 604.9-acre shrimp and oyster farm in Desaru, and an 8-acre Genetic Nucleus Centre in Phuket, Thailand. YHL envisions evolving into a multi-national Aqua-Eco Corporation.

Under the leadership of Mr. Low Yuan Heng, a visionary with over 18 years in aquaculture, YHL has advanced local oyster cultivation, pioneered Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) in Malaysia, and established the country’s first Shrimp Genetic Nucleus Centre. Mr. Low is also a permanent member of the Malaysia National Seed Advisory Council, ensuring YHL remains at the forefront of innovation, environmental stewardship, and regional seafood leadership.

Guided by our philosophy, “Breed Local, Grow Glocal,” YHL focuses on strengthening regional food security, reducing reliance on wild-caught shrimp, and lowering the carbon footprint of seafood imports. Our integrated approach balances productivity, environmental care, and community impact to deliver a resilient and sustainable seafood system.
